Coaching for Success The individual coaching program helps business leaders gain skills needed to effectively manage an organization or team. These intensive one-on-one sessions are tailored to fit individual needs and can be conducted in person or by telephone. Videotape and role-play simulations may be used to enhance learning. With skillful coaching, managers enhance their ability to define core issues and create actionable development plans. Issues addressed in coaching include managing difficult relationships, improving communication skills, managing conflict, influencing without authority, values clarification, strategic planning, stress and time management, delegation, managing upward, dealing with political situations, and handling problem employees. My coaching program is flexible and customized, with a coaching style that blends my training and experience in counseling psychology and business. And I approach the work with empathy, supportiveness, and a strong goal orientation. Career and Transition Counseling I often work with individuals in transition: those who are contemplating a job change, those who have recently left their positions, and those who have recently started in a new job. This coaching is helpful in assessing personal career interests, clarifying values, and developing resume and search strategies. Assessment tools, such as the Strong Interest Inventory, can be used to better understand career needs, allowing individuals to find new jobs that best fit their skills and interests. I also coach people on increasing presentation effectiveness during job interviews. Back
